Keating by Explorica, Canada's leading educational tour provider has teamed with the National Capital Commission to provide our student travellers with a special opportunity to shape the future of Ottawa educational travel.
The challenge: Show how Ottawa reflects Canada
This spring, students on our Ottawa tours can participate in an exclusive and FREE hands-on educational experience. During the Mission: Capital quest, your class will stop at sites related to the shaping of Ottawa and its link to:
- the history of interactions between First Nations people and European explorers
- the impact of the War of 1812
- social conditions in 19th and early 20th century Canada
- the importance of railways in the development of Canada, and more
Working together, students will use their new knowledge to create an activity, for grades 7 and 8 that shows how the building of Canada and our capital city are linked. The final activity, produced by the National Capital Commission, will then be available for all educational travel groups in 2014!
Give your students the chance to make a positive impact on their fellow classmates and on how future generations will learn to appreciate what makes us uniquely Canadian.
This is a limited time opportunity—don’t miss out!
